Cloud Gen 2 Announcement at Oracle OpenWorld 2018
Ellison announces the Generation 2 Cloud at Oracle OpenWorld 2018, where he explains his twofold focus on security and performance. Ellison describes the innovations built into Gen 2 Cloud at the software and hardware levels to better secure enterprise data. New technology, such as autonomous robots powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning, paired with a separate “perimeter defense” network of cloud control computers, keeps Oracle data and customer data properly siloed for privacy and security. Ellison also showcased Gen 2 Cloud’s superior performance, made possible through new autonomous services for patching, updating, provisioning, and scaling.
